Opposition Parties Shifting Alliances THE decision of the Lok Dal on August 8 to join the National Democratic Front, mooted by the Bharatiya Janata Party, is unlikely to hasten the process of greater unity amongst the non-communist opposition parties. Moves for such a unity had gained momentum, about five months ago, following rumours of a snap mid-term parliamentary poll.
