Among the most important conclusions of some of these studies is that TV makes the human brain 'drowsy and passive', making TV an ideal instrument for propaganda and entertainment, but not education and enlightenment Perhaps it is this very quality of TV which is the reason for the high priority accorded to it along with that accorded to the strengthening of the means of control and repression.
