The Lodhas of Midnapur lead a threatened existence. The Santals of West Bengal are constantly on the move in search of work. The Birhors and Paharias iive like paupers in West Bengal and Bihar. In my India children at seven are hired out as child-labourers just for a meal. Will eucalyptus help them? Are these people going to operate rayon, plastic or matchbox industries? Will they own and operate paper mills, or open furniture, shops?
