COTTON- In the Dumps

THE last few months have seen some changes in the cotton market that would have been considered improbable less than a year ago. For one thing, cotton prices have "fallen so low'', according to one major trader, that "they cannot go down any further". Prices pulled out of their nosedive in the last few weeks and levelled off because market sentiment was that there would' be a settlement in the Bombay textile strike once the mini general elections were out of the way.
