Tax-Prodded Expansion THE government should perhaps be congratulating itself that its fiscal policies are achieving at least one of the objectives it has had in mind. The tax incentives extended to the corporate sector to promote investment and fixed asset formation are apparently having the desired effect. In fact the question to ask may be whether company managements do not launch into investment programmes largely because of the tax saving that would result. and which would be lost it these programmes were not undertaken. Such a situation is obviously not one most likely to make for careful planning of investments or the right decisions on such matters as choice of technology, etc.
