In a land like ours, where the slaughter of cows sparks more intense angers than when prisoners are deliberately blinded, or when thousands of under-trials rot without hope in jails all over the country, or when tens of millions are lost in hunger and deprivation, there is little point in attempting a formal analysis of the cause and effect of every blow-up. This is an over-rated pastime.
