IT is incomprehensible why so much of the political commentary on the Indian condition tries so assiduously to separate Indira Gandhi from the crisis-making. Daily, appeals are made imploring her to take note of something that is happening, quietly forgetting that probably .she. has had it hand in it, This is a rather unsatisfactory way of trying to gut her some kind of hope for future action. Invariably, the next phase of demoralisation is more intense than ever.
