The aggregate amount of such repurchases will be upto Rs 25 lakh in a year. Meanwhile, the redemption date of Rs 160 lakh debenture stock 1978-83 has been deferred to 1989-92 by raising the interest rate to 11 per cent per annum from April 1, 1980.
