This is what the Interim Committee had told the IMF last year to make it possible for the Fund to play a somewhat larger role than before in helping its member countries to overcome the situation created by the drastic increases in oil prices and to contribute to the recycling process necessary for orderly transfer of funds from the surplus countries to the deficit ones.
