US policy on Namibia has become more pro-South African under the Reagan administration. Pretoria meanwhile has been making preparations for protecting its 'interests' in Namibia. It has handed over domestic security or policy rights to so-called internal authorities in Namibia. This is a ploy to strengthen the Pretoria-backed stooge organisation, called Democratic Twinhalle Alliance (DTA) which is led by a former member of the South African ruling Nationalist Party. Simultaneously, South Africa has stepped up military raids against SWAPO. But these moves will not avail it much.
