The bigger companies will also benefit from the government's relaxation of the ceiling on acceptance of public deposits, which is to continue at 40 per cent of net worth, as also from the raising of the debt-enquiry ratio from 1:1 to 2:1. Even the prescription of a ceiling of 15 per cent on the interest rate payable on company deposits will help the larger companies since the smaller companies will not be able to offer higher rates to attract deposits.
