All-Round Expansion Hansavivek BALLARPUR INDUSTRIES continues to expand and diversify its activities. It has planned to add a .sixth machine at the paper mill of the Ballarpur unit and will take up its installation after augmenting other facilities. The company's application for expansion of the Yamunanagar unit by way of manufacture of specialised grades of paper, which are currently imported, is in an advanced stage of consideration of the government. Meanwhile, .suitable equip ment has been located and approval to import this is expected to be received shortly. The company's application for an industrial licence for a new paper mill near Machhlighat in Maharashtra for production of 16,500 tonnes of writing and printing paper is also under active consideration of government. The company is seeking permission for import of capital goods for the proposed bromine plant to be set up at Singach .salt works. The application submitted to the Central government by Pilking- ton Brothers of the UK to sell a part of its shareholding in Hindustan Pilking- ton Class to the company is still under consideration of the government. The completion of the project of Andhra Pradesh Bayous, promoted by the company, was delayed because of delays in delivery of plant and equipment and this entailed a cost overrun of about 14 per cent.
