'unity' among various Congressmen is of course rather simple-minded, for it refuses to see that the developments in Indian politics during the last decade have indeed transformed the various political parties, not to speak of the Congress itself, considerably and any desire to restore the status quo ante cannot but be an exercise in wishful thinking. Nevertheless, the possibility holds attraction to considerable sections within the Janata and these sections seems to have been exerting themselves during the last two months.
