Semi-Arid Tropical India Hans P Binswanger This paper reports the findings of a sequence of risk attitude experiments carried out by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics among 250 farmer and landless labour households in three agroclimatic regions of the Indian semi-arid tropics. The risk attitude experiments form part of a larger research programme carried out by ICRISAT to assess the effects of risk and risk aversion on the agriculture of these regions.
