Egypt-Price of Food

THE riots in Egypt over price increases were apparently not confined to only big cities like Alexandria and Cairo, but occurred all over thecountry. The casualty figures too are expected to turn out to be much higher than reported. According to a report in the Financial Times, London, even the government-controlled Egyptian press has admitted that ''40 policemen were injured by gunfire on the first day alone''. That the army had to be called in to suppress the outbreak is sufficient commentary on the seriousness of the situation.
