STATE BANK OF INDIA'S mer-chant banking division recently cele-brated its having managed capital issues of 50 public limited companies. Most of these companies were in the medium and small sector, promoted by up and coming technocrats and entrepreneurs. The division has also rendered assistance to many projects in the joint sector promoted by State Industrial Development Corporations.
