In Due Season CONSIDER South Africa. To most of us elsewhere, apartheid is an abstract concept It is akin to a certain vague awareness of man's indignity to man, how, a la classes in Plato's Republic, the races are territorially and culturally segregated and the native African is forced to keep to his place. How much however do we know of the contents of apartheid? In this silly season, one could do worse than try to comprehend what they add up to.
