WITHIN less than a year of the coup in Portugal which toppled the Caetano regime the new government led by the Armed Forces Popular Movement has achieved notable successes in demolishing the country's colonial superstructure. Through a series of negotiations, agreements have been reached for transfer of power or for the formation of interim governments for supervising the transfer process. Guinea-Bissau became independent on September 10, 1974 and the deadline for independence for Mozambique has been set at June 25 and for Angola at November 11 this year.
