Higher Sales, Lower Gross Profit Hansavivek A H M E D A B A D ELECTRICITY'S scheme of expansion of its electricity generating capacity at the Sabarmati power station, by installing a new gene- rating set of 110 MW capacity is well under way. The Government of Gujarat, public financial institutions, and banks, have agreed to lend approximately Rs 24 crores for the scheme. One of the conditions of the loan facilities is the option left to the financial institutions and the government of Gujarat to convert 20 per cent of their respective financial assistance into fully paid up equity shares of the company at par. The option will be exercisable during October 1980 to September 1982, Steps are being taken to ensure the commissioning of the new generating plant before the target date. Meanwhile, the company is going ahead with its normal development programme.
