Letters to Editor Command Performance

IT is strange that you should rush an editorial ("Vice-Chancellors: A Com-mand Performance", March 29) with-out first ascertaining the facts of an event. First of all K L Shrimali was not a former Minister of State for Edu-cation at the Centre but Cabinet Min-ister for Education. Secondly, he was not rewarded with Vice-Chancellorship of BHU. He was already the Vice-chancellor of Mysore- University, lie resigned from- Mysore to join BHU. Thirdly, it is wrong that the Vice-Chaneellors met the Prime Minister af-ter the Convention on March 26. It was before- the Convention that the Vice-Chancellors met the Prime Minister at Parliament House,
