Further, now that the emphasis is shifting once more on keeping the public distribution system alive by importing food- grains from abroad,' the problem of adequate storage in the ports is suddenly receiving attention afresh. The Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India has come out with an elaborate statement on the proposed logistics for receiving imported grains in the ports and for disbursing them subsequently. A charade, which reverses all the pontifications of the past few years, is obviously on.
