Accent on Diversification

Accent on Diversification Hansavivek MUKAND IRON is diversifying its activities by establishing a boat-building yard to make deep sea fishing trawlers, which are now mainly imported, in technical collaboration with Artillerous Imesa of Mexico. It has also secured government approval for substantially expanding its capacity to manufacture converters for copper and other non-ferrous metals, scrap processing plants, rolling mill equipment, and spares, components and replacements for steel and metallurgical plants. The company's machine building division has also been diversifying its product- range by making many items of complex industrial machinery from its own designs. Under an agreement with the Fertilizer Corporation of India, designs and knowhow will be available to the company for manufacturing heat exchangers, pressure vessels and related equipment. The division will also make hot rolling mills under a protocol signed with Metallurgical and Engineering Consultants (India), a government of India undertaking, which in turn has technical collaboration with Wean-United of US.
