January 12, 1974 large proportion of components required by the giant heavy industrial units like HEC and MAMC are manufactured in units like Jessops, Rraithwaite, Richardson and Cruddas and others. This type of dovetailing is already seen to be yielding results. A major problem faced by these units is that during the industrial depression and when their own managements were weak they had accepted contracts at low prices which could not he executed except at a loss. An upward revision of the prices of their products was, therefore, necessary to match their costs. This has now been done in the case of railway wagons, which has given a strong stimulus to the operations of these units.
