the president of the Indian Muslim League is dead. He died at the pinnacle of his glory in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh on his way back home from the haj pilgrimage. His personal charm and winning manners endeared him to all those who came in contact with him. He was perhaps the most happily married man, with three wives and 20 children. He was a Muslim by birth, with a lineage dating back to the time of the Prophet, a merchant by profession and a politician by necessity. It was the combination of these three elements which* made him the outstanding leader of Muslims in Kerala. He was fully conscious of his political strength and he used it to advantage.
