Banks- Neglect of the Neglected

IF the widespread and persistent power crisis has underscored anything, it is that there is inure to the creation of generating capacity than allocation of investment resources and that the failures of actual generation and transmission reflect more than shortcomings of 'management' and 'maintenance'. The fact is that though over the past 20 years investment in this sector has been at projected levels or even higher, the physical achievement has on an average fallen short by as much as 35 per cent. At the same time, operational failures have been so pervasive as to suggest a deeper malady. Thus the. massive investments in atomic power have failed to pay off by traditional standards
