NEW DELHI Cost of Food Muddle THE government's total loss of grip over the economy and the absence of any perspective in its management is probably best illustrated by the goings- on in the Food and Agriculture Ministry. Panic and poor management must be largely blamed for the price spiral following the setback to foodgrains production last year and the erratic monsoon this year and for the drain of foreign exchange on account of the rush to import foodgrains. The latest data released by the Food and Agriculture Ministry itself bear this out.
