NEW DELHI-Reassuring the Private Sector

THE Planning Commission and the Industrial Development Ministry are currently engaged in parallel exercises on revising the" Industrial Policy Resolution of 1956. The scope and objectives of the proposed revision are still far from clear. The idea is that by the time the Approach document on the Fifth Plan is ready in the middle of September, problems connected with a restatement of industrial policy should be sorted out so that it would be possible, if still considered necessary at that stage, to come out with a revision of the Industrial Policy Resolution.
