The Educational Situation A R Kamat It may well be said that in contrast to most other sectors of development the country has indeed done better in the educational sector and in fact has overfulfilled the targets of enrolment and turnout in certain sub-sectors like higher education, including engineering and technology. But the whole educational stru- ture betrays serious weaknesses of a fundamental character which appear to be more or less inherent in our economic-political system.
