of non-essential consumer goods. Promi- nent among these have been the foreign pharmaceutical companies many of whose expansion plans appear to be mainly in non-pharmaceutical lines. The control of drug prices has clouded their chances of continuing to make super profits out of making medicines. There is also the fear that an essential item like pharmaceuticals will continue to be the object of public and governmental attention from time to time. At the same time, many of these companies have the liquidity and the managerial resources for expansion.
