Futures Market-Still Dithering

Synthetics and Chemicals commenced production of the material in 1963. But even as control was imposed to check the already high prices, a fillip was sought to he given to Synthetics and Chemicals by linking imports by the major consumers with offtake of domestic synthetic rubber. Following the shortage of alcohol in 1967 and 1968, which led to imports, synthetic rubber prices were revised upwards to Rs 5.15 per kg. The current price is Rs 4.40 per kg.
