Apart from the change in market psychology, bearish sentiment has been aided by the increased summer crop arrivals in the southern States and larger rabi crop arrivals in the northern States, Monetary stringency also has had its impact. The cost of holding goods has gone up considerably. Yet another factor which is said to have contributed to the easier tendency is the marked decline in smuggling of oil to Pakistan; this has been no small business.
