farmers at our factory premises and the Banners' Information Centres- cum-Depots. These include helping the fanners by providing free of cost services, like soil testing, and advisory services on proper application of different kinds of fertilizers and pesticides and insecticides for various crops and climatic conditions, water management, irrigation, farm mechanisation, and farm management. Again, in addition to holding some stocks of fertilizers at these centres for meeting the immediate requirements of farmers, we have, as a service to farmers, recently started distribution of pesticides and insecticides at fifty of our centres, and we intend to extend this facility to the remaining centres during the current yean Judging from the large number of farmers who visit our Farmers Information Centres-cum- Depots and seek advice and assistance on fertilizer use and other agricultural inputs from our technical staff it seems that these centres are valued by farmers. We, therefore, propose to make these centres increasingly useful, as we gain experience and receive suggestions from farmers.
