Opportunity in Manganese Magnus writes : THE manganese trade has now gone the full circle and the rising market has apparently once again caught Indian mines and exporters on the wrong foot. Almost exactly two years ago (see "Quality by Suspense", September 21, 1968, p 1426), producers were scrambling for customers in a market depressed by lack of demand from steel and ferromanganese plants, and by a drop in exports. Today demand has revived from all sides and the mines find it hard to meet it at short notice.
