WEST ASIA-A New Recognition

WEST ASIA A New Recognition A NEW commando group, 'Al Ansar or 'the Partisan', has been formed, and it has applied for recognition to the Unified Command of the Arab commando groups. Already there are 10 Fe- dayeen organisations that are operating in the area. The most important ot these is Al Fatah, headed by Yasser Arafat, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), whose leader is George Habbash, at one time a practising medical doctor. The significance of the new commando group, Al Ansar, lies in the fact that it is composed entirely of members of the communist parties of Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon.
