It might even be ventured that the reshuffle has little relevance to the economic field. It has been suggested that, by divesting herself of the Finance portfolio, the Prime Minister has indicated that economic radicalism is no longer of pressing interest to her. The campaign against communal ism now claims much greater attention, and her likely intention to take the country to a mid-term poll early next year underscores the importance of having the Home portfolio under her charge.
