India and Cambodia Romesh Thapar WITHOUT the least remorse, and as it the whole of South-East Asia belongs to its sphere of influence, the all- powerful US Pentagon moved its adventurer President to order an escalation of the war from Vietnam to Cambodia. Forecasts about the likelihood of peace returning to these ravaged lands have again proved worthless. Indeed, these moves, together with the deterioration of the troubled ceasefire? in West Asia, suggest that we are in the midst of World War III without really being conscious of it. This consciousness will be heightened the moment the repercussions crystallise.
