Science or Seance? Romesh Thapar SIGNIFICANTLY, the hoisting of a satellite by China has not been given the kind of newspaper display which we associate with much lesser achievements. No doubt is left in any impartial mind that China has consolidated a remarkable scientific and technical sophistication into its productive infrastructure. These achievements show a massive co-ordination of skills and resources, limited as they must be in a developing economy. These dramatic pointers to advance have a lesson for us at home.
