Politics of Konkan Development

Politics of Konkan Development YOUR Maharashtra Correspondent (December 6, p 1871) gives a somewhat slanted view of the recently held Kon- kan Conference. Though some of the leading workers belonged to the PSP, the Conference was a non-party affair. Attempts have been made to divert people's attention from the genuine demands of Konkan by driving a wedge on the one hand between Ratnagiri and the other parts of Konkan, and on the other between the political parties and the non-party workers striving to get a fair deal for Konkan. Your Correspondent has made, though inadvertently, some contribution to this cleavage.
