December 6, 1969 IN less than a year, the iron and steel market in Bombay has passed from one extreme, of widespread depression, to the other, of undisguised boom. Earlier in the year, the market was so depressed that dealers were worried about the heavy stocks that were accumulating with them. In fact, they were selling at prices lower than those recommended by the Joint Plants Committee.
