The Tel n- gana Non-Gazetted Officers (NGOs) have resumed duty after a 35-days strike, following Government assurances that their grievances would be redressed, that the strike period would be treated as earned leave, that all except those involved in Court proceedings would be permitted to join duty, and that there would be no victimination. Yet it is hardly the end of the matter. While the President of the now unrecogn'sed Telengana NGOs Association thanked Government for its concessions, he did not fail to assert that the NGO's grievances would be removed only by the concession of a separate State! Reflective again of the prevailing stalemate is the disinclination of the Centre and Slate Government to make any fresh move on the political level. Significantly, the Central Reserve Police (CRP) units continue to be present throughout the capital of the State
