He is able to begin his manipulations and manoeuvres by pointing to the ambitions of Chenna Reddy. He has already been able to work out some kind of agreement with Sanjeeva Reddy. He is now out to rope in some other Congressmen who may be opposed to him and who may even have sympathies for a separate Telengana, but who are even more apprehensive of the possible ascendancy of Chenna Reddy. Indeed, the Chief Minister feels that he has been granted a fresh lease and is reinforced in his complacency. Ho feels, perhaps, that to take any political initiative prior to the expansion of his Cabinet is no longer necessary. Above all, any doubts about his ability to stick on to his post that he may have felt arc now set at rest. He is working on the idea that the Telengana movement would split and acrimonious exchanges between different sections would spoil the whole business.
