February 24, 1968 The week's story of cotton' 'will not be complete without a mention of the further fall of Rs 20 to Rs 30 per candy in prices and the settlement of thelong outstanding dispute with the exporters of cotton in East Africa regarding prices to be paid in respect of contracts entered into prior to the devaluation of the British pound. Importers here have now agreed to pay 11 per cent more on such contracts and exporters have agreed to waive carrying charges up to March 15 for all contracts due for shipment by the end of February. On the export front, sales of Bengal Deshi, registered for export from September 1, to February 10, are placed at 188,305 bales; the quantity passed for shipment is 100,072 bales.
