removal of the export duty on groundnut extraction which has seriously affected its exports to free currency areas. It is a sad commentary on the country's export effort that even in a year of record groundnut production exports of groundnut extractions should be lagging well behind earlier performances and that, again, when the world is known to be protein hungry. Export duty on groundnut extractions accords ill with the Government's desire to boost exports and with the cash assistance allowed against exports of decorticated cottonseed extractions. One could even make a good case for banning export of cottonseed oilcakes
