NEW DELHI- New Light on Ports
September 28, 1968 THE Planning Commission and the Commerce Ministry continue their wrangle over the policies needed to achieve the seven per cent per annum growth target for exports. In the meanwhile, the state of the country's ports is getting to be such that any big leap in exports may be effectively ruled out. A candid picture of the situation in the major ports was given to Government recently by a Team of experts from the ports of Gothenburg (Sweden), New York and London. The Team conducted its study at the invitation of the Minister for Transport and Shipping, V K R V RaoIts report was submitted in July.
