A sum of $ 22 billion was provided for military operations in South-East Asia, though according to latest assessments the cost of the Vietnam war during the current fiscal year will be no less than $ 30 billion. More money would bs required both for domestic expenditure on the war and also for purchase of foreign goods and services by the Department of Defence and for personal expenditure abroad by US troops and other employees.
