If on November 22 the Governor had dismissed the Ajoy Mukherjee Government and invoked President's Rule and promised an early mid-term election, all today would have been thinking of the poll instead of the next bus to burn, the next intrigue for defectors and re-defectors. The whole atmosphere has been rendered vicious by shortsightedness in Calcutta and Delhi.
