Distribution of Income in India

Income inequality is affected by intra as well ax inter-sectoral changes. During the early phases of economic growth, inter-sectoral inequality and sectoral shifts in weights of sectors are most influential unless there is a major shake-up of institutions intra-sectorally. In other words, barring radical changes in institutions, inequality in income distribution must inevitably increase as a consequence of industrialisation.
