What is Wrong with Our Irrigation Projects

K M Bhatia As part of the programme to increase agricultural production the Planning Commission has envisaged that eventually 112 million acres should be brought under irrigation in the country. But the capital cost of irrigation per acre is extremely high and of the irrigation potential already created, a significant portion remains unutilised.
