The Press in India-Circulation and Control

Circulation and Control THE CIRCULATION of newspapers in India rose from 191 lakhs in 1960 cent, according to the Tenth Annual cent, according to the Tenth Annual Report of the Registrar of Newspapers. The final circulation figure for 1965 is not given in the Report as returns from a number of newspapers, the smaller ones particularly, had not been received at the time of its compilation. The provisional figure of 217 lakhs mentioned for 1965 is, therefore, comparable to the provisional figure for 1964 of 207 lakhs mentioned in the last Annual Report.
