Online Gods Ep 10: Critiques of the Public Sphere and Fake News Busting

In this episode, we talk with Francis Cody about the public sphere and Govindraj Ethiraj about fake news busting. 

Francis Cody is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology and the Asian Institute at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on language and politics in southern India. He first brought these interests to bear on a study of citizenship, literacy, and social movement politics in rural Tamil Nadu.

Govindraj Ethiraj is a television and print journalist, and founder IndiaSpend.com and Factchecker.in, two public-interest journalism websites.
